A glimpse into one of my other lives

Ettiene versus Brakgwar

Clash of the Titans

Even if it is just the last game of the regular season, this was a big game. You know one side or the other is going to be pulling some kind of black magic to get the edge. Well, I think Ettiene takes the award this time.

At the start of the second period, Brak's A Theory Tested wins the period-opening faceoff. Thirteen seconds later, Fumvavzes takes a shot at the one-point goal. Ettiene's goalie Mivekkanz makes the save. It's a brutally hard shot that Mivekkanz mishandles slightly - a spray of blood erupts from the impact, but the ball doesn't fall to the ground. And Mivekkanz DOESN'T GIVE UP YET!

He holds on for what seems like an eternity, though it is only two seconds, until he is able to make a weak, close-range pass to his teammate, Hektebuwa. While the ball is still passing through the air between the two players, Mivekkanz collapses to the ground dead, his open wound spilling green blood on the dirt in front of the goal he so faithfully tried to protect. Uabnevol sprints from the bench to the goal to replace his fallen teammate.

At this point in the game, Brak is winning by a score of 9-2. He does go on to win the game, but Ettiene was gaining ground the entire rest of the game. Had Brak not had a seven-point lead when this happened, Ettiene's troops may just have rallied for the victory.
