It's been a while...
Let's see, the last time I posted here was mid-March. Since that date, a few things have happened. Here's a quick catch-up.- I went through final exams at Strayer for winter quarter, keeping my 4.0 average.
- Dana's and my divorce was negotiated through a financial planner and mediator, then filed.
- I refinanced the truck and the house, and I paid a bunch of money to a bunch of people.
- Dana bought a condo and moved into it.
- Eric and Sheila, friends of mine, moved to Florida.
- Brady and Kelli (friends of mine) moved from Florida back to Colorado.
- Erika got kicked out of high school. She was then enrolled at DPS Online.
- Richard was diagnosed with diabetes, and had to go through learning to check blood sugar, take insulin, etc. He had to stay in the hospital overnight on his birthday.
- I discovered that I like watching Mammoth Lacrosse.
- The truck got a dent in the side, probably while helping someone move. I don't even count the dents in the bed since I expect those to happen.
- The IFGS awards banquet happened. It wasn't a huge success. In fact, there weren't many people there at all. Part of the reason has to do with the awards not being really ready. Another part was the slightly silly game that was run (A Seriouser Affair, written by me).
- I dipped my toe in the dating pool. Then I fell in. More on this later.
- I went on vacation. 2 days of driving, followed by 5 days of visiting, followed by 2 more days of driving. That was a lot of driving. We went to the beach a couple times. The kids and I made a sand octopus. And a sand squid. And I made a sand duck.
- Richard went to Junior Achievement's Business Week, which got him out of the house for a week. I hope he learned more than "cheating sometimes works."
- Erika, Cady, Dana and I went to the Police concert. Good show.
- I finished spring quarter at Strayer, again keeping my 4.0 average. I did this even though I had the wrong book for my accounting class. I mean, the really wrong book. The class was using 6th edition. I had 4th edition. Mine was the Canadian version. It was also the pre-publication edition, so basically a foreign beta book.
- My daughter told me that she is pregnant.
- Later, I found out that the father of her child assaulted her, and the court case is just getting underway now. I guess I should say "allegedly assaulted." Nah, the scumbag did it.
- I went camping for a couple days on the FLG land. It was nice. Really nice. Really, really nice.
- I'm still in therapy. I don't see this going away any time soon.
I need to remember to post more often!
